Stained Glass Shower Door

I am just learning about making stained glass. I will be taking some classes in the fall and can't wait to make some windows. Is it possible to make a stained glass shower door? I know that I would have to put something on it to protect it from the water, but can it really be done? Thank you for your patience for probably asking a really stupid question.
