Need suggestions

Am looking for suggestions for a fast growing shade tree for middle of front yard, something whose roots would not get under house or sidewalks and cause problems. The planting area will be about 10 feet from the house. Thanks!

How much sun will it get? How much water? How tall do want it? Flowers? How much clean-up do you want to do? Sorry, lots of questions to help us answer your question.

Duh lol sorry. Full sun, roughly 10-12 feet tall, flowers or not, doesn't matter. Not a whole lot of clean up, guess I'm thinking evergreen. Had thought of magnolia but too much mess. This is actually for a friend of mine, who asked me for suggestions, told her I wasn't sure but would post and see what others thought. Thanks for the help.
