Vine ID Help Needed
looks like a Sinnigia, not a vine. From Africa Violet family??
It looks like common Ruella to me.
It looks like Ruellia to me too.

Hi Donna! I looked up photos of the Sinnigia and don't think this is the same plant. Foliage of the Sinnigia showed fuzzy foliage, plus this NOID forms a vining habit. I'm adding another photo showing the vine. Blooms do look alot like the Sinnigia, but the blooms on this plant have no fragrance like the Sinnigia.
Kay & Toy, I grow Ruellia in my garden that gets up to 36 inches tall. I was suprised & pleased to see a ground cover Ruellia. I learn something everyday with this wonderful hobby of plant growing. I'm fairly sure this is the vine I have growing.
Thank you all!
Now that I know what this groundcover is, I'm about to go plant in my butterfly garden. Just the few blooms this groundcover has produced, the butterflies seem to love it.....And thanks to DonnaB for getting me interested in butterfly gardening this will make a great addition to my small butterfly habitat.
Ruellia for sure.
Thanks everyone!
