Well, I finally gave it a shot and tried casting my rhubarb leaves in concrete this week. I think it went ok, except the concrete (3pts sand 1pt portland) seemed to be really wet around the edges. It was more like pudding than thick brownie batter. I reinforced with chicken wire. Now it is 3 days later, the leaves are removed and they are holding up under gentle handling. I've got them submerged in water. The question is, will they hold up if they cure properly in water or if the mix is too wet to begin with will they be too fragile?
