I am looking for not just the average ones you can in the stores but some different ones to BUY, any suggestions of where to buy or look?

iris reticulata's
Scroll down a bit. Scheepers has a small variety of reticulatas. For large orders their wholesale sister company Van Engelen has lower prices.

According to my Manual of Bulbs (RHS), these are hybrids derived from I. histrioides and I. reticulata.
Brent and Becky has a nice selection. They don't do wholesale anymore, though.
Ednie, my wholesale supplier of bulbs has a limited selection.

My favorite one is histriodes George. Very reliable.
Have you contacted Alan McMurtrie in Canada? If you want variety in retics, he's your man.

Oh! Those are wonderful! I didn't know there was any serious breeding going on with reticulatas.
Sheepers has a minimum order of $35. I think I can make it this year as I am after peony 'Do Tell'. that is $11 and I can go on from there. Not sure of minimum at Van Englen their wholesale catalog. Since I don't buy that way I recycle that catalog. Last yr 'Harmony' had one flower open. Time to renew the retiaculatas.
Have you tried histriodes George, IrisMA? They come back each year for me much more reliably than the others.
Holy cow on Alan McMurtrie's website. I never knew.
Haven't tried George. Alan M in articles has stated that new ones should be obtained every 3 yrs or so. Katharine Hodgkins lasted the longest time for us.
George has lasted me over 14 years, and I have divided some of them. The bloom is nice every year.
I'll take a look at Sheepers & see if they carry it.
