How or why would a previously thriving 15 yr old Magnolia x loeberni 'Merill' suddenly be succumbing to verticillium wilt? It doesn't look like the tree is going to be able to compartmentalize the infection and grow through it. There have been no root injuries or incursions of any kind - none.
