Am Newbie to Irises- have questions

Can Irises be grown in Texas safely? Sorry don't know a thing about them.
Would love to try some, anyone thinning out theirs?

That depends on what type(s) of irises you want to grow and in which part of Texas you want to grow them. I recommend you contact Malevil Iris Gardens near Lubbock and ask them which irises might do well in your area. Here is their link:

You could also try getting in touch with your nearest iris club and seeing what they recommend. Most clubs also host iris sales where you can purchase irises that are already acclimated to your climate at very good prices. You can find your nearest club here:

They will grow but they don't do real great in zone 9 and 10 Texas
