Hi,
I took photos of three birds today that I can't identify. It's a dark cloudy day, so the pictures aren't very good, but I hope you can help anyway. Here is the first one. Some kind of immature heron I think but which one?
Thanks!
CLOSED: ID three birds - 2 herons & 1 hawk
I'd crop these photos more, but there not very clear as they are. This one is especially terrible because I took it out of the window of my car. The car was air conditioned. I rolled down the window and stuck my camera out into the hot steamy air without realizing that the lens would fog over! Oh well. This is some kind of bird of prey.
#2 Looks like a Great Blue to me, but lte someone confirm that first okay!
#1 Black-crowned Night Heron, one year old immature
#2 Little Blue front right, and Great Blue rear
#3 Red-shouldered Hawk

Thank you! That's the first Great Blue that I've seen in a long time, and he was so well hidden back there that I just couldn't be sure. I was way off on the hawk! Thanks again.
