blue angel is so vigorous. these blooms withstood over 10 inches of rain in june.we had almost 11 inches here compared to a norm of under 4. she still looks good with a nice full display.
not to be confused with blue angel
Lovely. I've just put in two of these to grow up a fence a lot like yours. Very excited now.
first year was skimpy with blue angel, but well worth the wait now. you sound like a clematis addict! like me! like a lot of us!
I'm just beginning to get into them now. Had bad luck with them before -- always wilted on me -- but now I stick to the viticella types and can just enjoy instead of fret. No more problems. I have a small garden but I keep finding places to tuck them in, which is fun. They're fascinating plants and there are so many ways you can use them in the garden, most of which I never would have imagined without DG. Can't wait to see what Blue Angel does.
i agree, vitacellas can take you to a higher level with clematis and re inspore. if you ever can get julia correvon, don't hestitae. so beautiful, long blooming season, stands up in heavy rain.
and betty corning is amazing too. well they all are, aren't they?
Just beautiful you two!!..Jeanne
love blue angel!! mine bloomed for a long time this summer ,but is resting now. the biggest stem at the bottom is the thickest of any clematis i have ever grown except for paul farges. it has amazed me in year 3. glad you have it, i do not find that many people have it and it deserves a lot of recognition and should be in wider favor and distribution!
