Didn't stake up Mango Meadowbright - it's a bit sad.

Nice Al, did most of yours return this year? Is that Avalanche new, very nice.

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Avalanche is new to me, I had some that didn't make it through the winter - but even worse I had some that started to leaf out and then died. That bed is pretty heavy soil and it might be a problem. The ones my wife has in her butterfly bed(which is bare, but wetter over the winter)are huge - 4'+ right now.

Most of mine haven't bloomed yet, just these really tall ones.

Your pallida are well behaved there - looks good.

First results from an experiment - this flower is from seeds started from Pixie Meadowbright 5/07. Looks to be true so far.

First bloom of 'Fatal Attraction'

'Purity' is really sending out a lot of blooms for a first year plant. Hope it returns.

'Coconut Lime' seems to be a good resting place.

Real nice shots, I love Fatal Attraction. Is Purity supposed to stay flat?

I will add this for coneflower diversity - Mexican Red Hats.

Al, I cannot find it written anywhere but in some pics they look to point slightly down as the cone enlarges. Not as much as some but not totally horizontal either. Mine so far are pretty flat. I like the red Mex, Hat. How tall do they get? FA does seem to glow. A very nice one so far. Merlot is just blooming now too. It also has dark stems and a nice lav/pink color. Will post a pic when it fills out a bit. Still waiting on Tiki Torch. Anyone got a bloom on that yet? Also Green Envy is keeping me waiting.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Here is first pic of 'Merlot'. Nice dark stems too.

ngam - love that 'Fatal Attraction!' It's high on my list of must-haves for next year. Merlot is pretty, too.

Here are 'Coconut Lime' and 'Pink Double Delight,' which I really like side-by-side here.

'Pink Double Delight' on its own...

Not a great picture, but this is 'Green Envy' just coming into bloom and looking a bit pathetic. I don't have any good blooms on this new plant yet; most of them look a little scruffy.

I agree that combo of PDD and CL is really nice. How tall is your PDD? I have heard it does not stay as compact as advertised. I have a little baby PDD, new this year, but it does have one little bud started.
A self seeded plant that I have been watching, now three years old has finally bloomed. I think it is Razzmztazz now. I hope so because the original disappeared a couple years ago. This does not appear as bright pink as the other, but it does seem to be starting a pompom on top and it is very well branched and has lots more buds to see. It is a tall plant at close to 5'.

I've heard 'Razzmatazz' is quite tall, so that could be it, but 5'--whoa! That's enormous for any coneflower, isn't it?

My 'Pink Double Delight' is about 24" tall, which I don't consider especially compact, but I've only ever seen it advertised as "like Razzmatazz, but more compact." I guess this fills the bill so far. This is the first year for it in my garden, but it was a larger nursery-grown plant when I got it.

Just a combination of Harvest Moon , White Swan and I think Sun down.

Beautiful combo Riverland. My Harvest Moon only has buds. I have sundown on my list for next year, makshi yours looks really healthy. Nice strong color too. Does it fade quickly? Even when it lightens up a bit it is still very nice. All of these would look good with blues and purples don't you think.

Are these razzle dazzle ? Not sure what all the names are

I grew several kinds from seed this year only had moderate success. I have many though that have not bloomed but are hanging in there. I planted Paradoxa, pallida , lustre hybrids, magnus, and Amado.

Wow, so many great flowers. Here's a shot with the zoom from an upstairs window. The light-colored foliage on the left is Caryopteris, it blooms a light blue in late summer.

Those are probably Razzmatazz. :)

Pink Double Delight is similar but seems to be, at least from what I've seen, a softer pink and with a not as bushy pom pom.

Thanks I just can't keep all those names straight especially when certain companies sell the same one just changing the name. I do have some double delight too but they are young and have bloomed single. Bluestone said they have to mature before they get that top plume.

This half of my Summer Sky has become a very pretty rose color. Doesn't really show up in the pic though! Twilight is right next to it on the other side. So wonder if there was some cross-pollenationlast year. I really like it and it really hold up.
