Pruning new hydrangea

Paris, IL(Zone 6a)

I've got an Endless Summer I planted about a month ago. It was 6" tall when it arrived and is now about 18". Two branches are flapping in the breeze. Is it a good idea to snip off the tops above a node? I'm thinking this will help the branches to grow stronger. Or, is it like the chick hatching from an egg thing and best to leave it alone to grow on its own?

You normally want to prune hydrangeas as little as possible, specially young stems. This will allow the stems to thicken through the years and better be able to support new branches and heavy blooms.
