Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. It was a nice day. Hot and very humid, but it usually is every year. DH built me the bestest potting bench as a gift! I prefer to do my potting and whatnot standing so he had to design the bench to be as high as a counter. It's fantastic! Then we went out to a nice dinner.

Hope everyone's gardens are looking fantastic and weed free!

Hey, when did we end up not just nuts, but CRAZY nuts? ;-) Lorraine, I’m beginning to think you just might like frogs after all, with all these frog pics you keep posting. LOL. I can set something up with Anjl for frog pics when she gets back…if there’s one thing I don’t have a shortage of it’s frog pics!

LOL hey everybody, tooth still acting up, but got some antibiotics and will be 5 days before they can do anything else, but have to share a funny with y'all.
We keep a running grocery list on the fridge, as we see something we need we writer it down. I hate when somebody yells "we need ______" then complain when I dont get it cuz I forgat. LOL anyway my DH always loses those little plastic containers that he takes his food in, so I'm almost out. Asked DD to write tupperware on the list. Looked at it this mornig and this is what I see

Beck- Yay!! You got the Mixed Seed Nuts "Seed Froffie". Now he is our mascot, so find him a nice cozy home :o) Yes, I make all my seed packets, I get some of the info off of the bulk packets themselves, and the rest of the info comes from the PlantFiles...I try to make sure thatI send seeds that are listed there so anhyone can look them up for more info. Thank you for saying such nice things about them *blushing*

AnjL- OMG!! Girl you and your DS and Sis and Mom are all doing such an AWESOME job on your Mom's garden!! I love going over to the thread and checking out the latest pics. Good Work!!! I still think I need you down here, come on Santee's only hot 1/2 of the year!!LOL!!!

Chat/Sandy- So sorry my computer was down, We're in the process of getting my new one connected to the internet....and for some reason it won't recognize our router...UGH!! It's the same as my old laptop, a Dell Inspiron...just a larger hard drive, more memory, and a faster processor,so my DH is going nuts!! Good thing he knows some Data techs over at Cox, I think we might have to have one of them come over. I still think it's just the router, we have 4 'puters in the house plus this new one makes 5 and I swear the router only has space for 4 of them. But we all know, don't try to argue with a man when it comes to electronics!!LOL!!

Sonoita/Brigett- Awwww, look at all the EARLY B-day wishes you received...LOL :o) I can't figure that one out. Your B-day is Sept. 28th right?? I remember that one easy cause it's my wedding anniversary. So I'll throw in a Happy Early Brthday as well ;o)

Sunny- I got the froffie surprise!! will be sending it off tomorrow. Let me know if it got there okay. How are all the little froffies doing?? Seen Slick or RaineyIcky lately?? Have any of the fires gotten under control yet? I'm sending *warm fuzzies* your way. I think I read you were having a pond issue??uh oh everything okay?

Susan- I hope your DH feels better soon. You can still come on and chat with us, there's no "requirement" to do the swaps. We need our veggie garden expert here!! My strawberry plants got effected by this last heatwave. I had blooms and everything!! Now about 95% of what I had has died AGAIN!! Ugh!! But I'm happy to report I have tomatoes and peppers now!! AND my corn is growing lie crazy, my DS is soooo excited!! Susan, if you can, could you let me know what types of things I can plant in the fall in my veggie garden. Thank you ;o)

Joey- OH I am sooo sorry about the toothache, I had an impacted molar and I tell you I swear childbirth didn't hurt as bad as that darn toothache!! Get better :o) I also got my seeds yesterday..wow, you ladies really know how to make seed packets!! Thank you for the bulb cutting? I will be planting it in my front yard!!

Tetley- Oh, you didn't have to do that!! I got a lovely cutting of a yellow epi, named Fruhlings Gold. She arrived safely and the paper towel was even still wet!! Can you please give me instructions on how to root it? Thank you, oh and is that plant from your collection or a plant passed down? I would like to name her after someone. JLMK

Anna Ruth- Wish I could send my old one to you :o) My DH claimed it right away... you should've seen Chistopher's face, talk about pouting!!LOL!! I don't know why either of them need a laptop, Todd has his desktop in his office and a laptop for work and Christopher has a desktop in his room. BUT, my DH is cleaning out 5 laptops for a neighbors friend, she wants to sell them, they are in great shape, 3 Dells and 2 toshibas, all under 3 years old. I will look into how much she wants for them (maybe we can talk her down).

Fifi- You need to get those knees better. I'm worried that you say your having a hard time walking....please please keep us posted and let me know if you need ANYTHING!!

I need to find the cactus's name on here, but I have one that I can share thats similar to hens and chickens but the leaves are much thicker, and when it comes off of the mother plant, it forms lil flower buds at the stem. real easy to grow.....they thrive on neglect =)

Santee, that bulb is the iris. They spread really fast so that one will make a nice large clump within a couple of years. And did you get your 1st place prize? Promptness has its rewards!
Feeling better since taking antibiotics, still have to be careful while eating, thinking of going and getting some ensure. Afraid I'm going to bite down wrong on it and OUCH!!

Let the hostess (Chatnoir) know through dmail what you will be sending. That way only the hostess knows what we all will be getting, so we can all be surprised. And also so there aren't any doubles.

Got my seeds from the seed swap! These are wonderful! There are all kinds of treasures in there. Thank you guys.

Santeelady, the epi I sent you should have roots already and just needs to be put in a small pot in a sunny spot. There is actually a story behind this one. I got it from a local nursery called Vintage Hill. Hubby took me there for our wedding anniversery this year and it was in bloom. I fell in love with it but the nursery staff said it was not for sale as they were using it for propagation purposes. When Jeff (the owner of the nursery) found out why we were there that day he told them to go ahead and sell it. It is a special plant to me. I really like plants with a history and thought that you might too. Vintage Hill is listed in the gardenwatchdog if anyone wants to check out his nursery.

I also have something OT to pass along. I am feeling very fortunate in the place that I work today. I work at a mortgage company and the owner is a wonderful individual that actually cares about his employees. When I started working there several years ago there were about a dozen employees now he has an entire building and offices in several states. Anyway, he decided that the department I work in (there are two of us) deserved a little recognition and today we were allowed to leave early. We went and got our hair done, manicure, pedicure and even had enough $ left over to purchase a pair of sandals to show off the new pedi. Have not gotten my hair done in a LONG time and have never had the extra money for something like a manicure or pedicure. I have worked at places where they had maybe a company picnic and christmas party but never individual recognition unless you were one of the favored few. Is this great or what??

yes tomorrw means today! lol I was up a bit late last night. sis took me to the indian res/casino to listen to a band. I cant believe that we both found the energy to dance too! lol! probably helped limber up all those sore muscles! we didint wake up til 10 AM this morn, so getting a late start on the driving.
We'll be leaving her shortly to start the long drive home. 13+ hours cause the kids will be awake and driving during the day time :o( I'm sure we'll make it home sometime sunday.

If so do you have any cuttings to spare...everywhere I look they are a bit pricey, cheapest I could find was $11.95 for this itty bitty plant. If you do hav a cutting to spare I can send a SASBE or even a trade if I have anything you may like. JLMK ;o)

I love pedicures! I have only had a handful, but they are always a great treat. My favorite part is the foot massage.
By the way I got my seeds early in the week. I haven't had a chance to really look at them yet. Now sounds like a good time, Aspen's asleep for a nap & DH is watching TV.

I got seeds at moms, and all were planted in her yard! ugh! lol! I think I have plenty growing in my yard already...but now I wont get to 'watch' the babies grow up :o(

I sure could use that massage on these legs and ankles right now! kicking that shovel in the dirt all week has wreaked havoc on my ankles and arches!

Oh ladies, if you have not had a pedicure, you must go. It is so relaxing. The foot massage feels awesome. My hubby sent me for a pedicure last year for Christmas, and I can't wait to go back again. Linda Kay

Pedicures are the BEST!! I used to get them all the time with my MIL, she's a mani/pedi nut!! She has even taken my FIL for pedicures!!!LOL!! Of course I still can't convince my DH to go get one with me...hee hee hee

We’ve been putting in our above-ground pond etc etc, so of course you know I’ve taken close to 200 pics so far too LOL. We put the co-op waterlilies in a temp. bucket, and one bloomed today…soooo beautiful! They are going in the pond later this evening. Anjl, hope you have a safe drive home, and get some good rest. Your mom’s yard looks amazing!!! I’ll catch up more later…am behind reading as usual ;-)
