Anyone ever make a strawberry pot?

Has anyone out there ever made your own strawberry pot?? Is there a secret to having the traditional strawberry pot shape versus a more open top? It looks fairly simple and unless someone tells me it doesn't work(don't see why it wouldn't) I 'm going to go ahead and make my own.
