I planted this several years ago. It is in a difficult spot, west facing with lots of dry, wind. But, it hangs on! The color is a little more reddish than the photo. The flowers are about 2" across; fairly small but plenty of them.

it is one of my favorites, but i say that about a lot of my clematis! another one that blooms at the same time and is a rounder, more magenta one is "regency", not common but lovely.
