What is eating my Basil

Pearisburg, VA(Zone 7a)

My basil plants are in several locations but all of them look eaten or rotten and wilted. They get watered on a regular basis but I've never had this problem with basil in 7 years of growing it.

Too much water? That would cause rotten roots that can't uptake water, and the plant wilts. How about your temperatures? Basil likes it hot, and will pout if it is too cool.

It's about 95 and 89% humidity - don't know - they are flowering at very early stages this year. I clip off the flowers ASAP but they are just not the normal 2 ft plant I would normally have at this point. I purchased them from different sources too.

Not sure what is going on with yours, but I, too, have noticed mine are flowering way earlier than normal this year, and on much smaller plants than normal. I'm guessing its gotten warmer earlier, with last week's heatwave, so maybe that's why. Not sure....

same thing - smaller plants, flowering. I pinch off the flowers but still low quality basil
