I just got a box full of rhizomes for Lily of the Valley. Looks like one huge mass of roots. What and how do I plant these? Do I plant now or refrigorate? How deep do I plant these "roots"? HELP! HELP! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
Desperate for help with Lily of the Valley!!
Good time to plant is the beginning of the fall. They like full shade and lots of humus. I forget the exact depth, but you don't want to put them down too far. Do make sure they won't get exposed.
More expert advice is welcome.
What do I do with them until then? Put 'em in the frig.?
put them in now. bulbs, corms etc don't like being dried out even though gardens centres will soon mave 100s of varieties in stock. putting them in now also helps them get rehydrated and to grow a good set of roots before the winter chills come.

Thanks, Mark! I'm glad you said that because that is exactly what I did! :-) Your are an angel!
