CLOSED: Hummer ID. Anyone know what the red headed one is?

Portland, OR(Zone 7b)

I just love these little guys. I have several different species of hummingbirds in my yard (I am a hummingbird garden fanatic!). Last I checked, I have 6 kinds. But this little red and brown one came up this year.. and I am trying to figure out what type he is?
This is a feeder at my living room window. They were fighting like crazy.. and I barely was able to catch this picture before they both dive bombed me!

I wish I could distinguish Allen's from Rufous but they are nearly identical.

I would say rufous. The Allen's that we have around here have orange throats - definitely orange. According to the maps, Allen's don't typically live as far north as Portland but rufous are relatively common.

You are absolutely right Kelli :-); it is much more likely a Rufous.

Allen's are much less common in the Portland area.

I've never seen an Allen's in person. just in photos/drawings.

Yep, Rufous for me too.
