Irises of Shadowood, part deux

They're popping open now more quickly than I can keep up with, so here are ten more irises that have opened since my last posting.

This one is sooo adorable! Unfortunately, it's also an excruciatingly slow grower and unreliable bloomer for me. I think this is only the third time I've seen it bloom in the last 10 yrs, and its clump has never had more than 3-4 rzs.

One of my all time favorites ...

SDB 'Firestorm'

Interestingly, in the shadier bed, this one is always a clear white with a blue beard. Last year I planted a piece in a full sun bed, and I didn't even recognize it when it bloomed! In the sun bed it's a creamy white with a yellow halo around the beard. I don't know if that's because of the extra sun exposure or just a difference in soil pH or fertility. Unexpected, anyway.

Usually one of my very first bloomers of the season, it was beat to the punch by several others this year ...

Maiden bloom. This one stopped me in my tracks with its phenomenal color.

Last one for tonight, but certainly not least. Another one of my very favorites. If this had been my creation, I would have named it "Mood Ring" because that's what it reminds me of every time I look at it. I adore the moody hues of this little flower.

Pilgrims Choice has been a favorite of mine.
when i saw it in bloom i had to have it ,
and it dose well in OK. which that is a miracle with the weather we have had the last 4 years

I like Flea Circus, Blue Line, Golden Violet, and Smooth. Tazzy's right though, there isn't an ugly one in the lot.

Lots more irises blooming here now, though many of the poor babies are waterlogged with continuing rain. I'll post ten more tonight.

Yep, when you have enough I want to try try dark crystal, libation and just a croc. Also looking for something in orange MDB, SDB type or IB. Oh, your Aurora Sea still is blooming this late in the season for me, I had three blooms from it this year. Love it!

Had three days of rain myself and the first bit tattered blooms and buds. Your photos are just beautiful. Keep them coming.
