Does your garden have a theme?

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

My garden is far from looking like the ones that I've seen pictures of but I thought I might post a few of the work we have done this year.
As I was taking the pictures I got to thinking of what theme my garden might represent. I would have to say that mine is Daylilies and plants with variegated foliage.
Does your garden have a theme? Planned or otherwise?
Here are some pictures of our beginning garden.

Very nice! I also love variegated or silvery white leaved plants.

Mine is an unplanned shade garden- I work it out as I go, and probably everything I've planted has been moved at least once. I have primarily hosta, ferns, astilbe, heuchera, and hakone grass. I have three varities of that, but I think the "albo striata" is my favorite..love all of them though. I wish I could have more daylilies, but I don't get enough sun, so I have just a small patch.

Here is Albo Striata from last year.

Great gardens dogwalker!!! Just beautiful!! You have some really great plants there....

I don't really have any themes - I just sort of plants what I like and hope that it works - however I guess you could say I have a more shadier garden and then my full sun gardens LOL That is about all...

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Sort of a theme and a plan so I dont put taller plants in front of shorter ones.
The beds were here I am just "plumping" things up a bit, transplanting some overgrown Hosta and adding to a lone astilbe.

This is the front of the shade garden.

75 feet later is where I started Day lilies. I call it shade altho it gets sun from 1:00- until sunset. It includes the "lone astilbe" and "lone Hosta"
The DL's are
Chicago Firecracker -reddish brown
Starling- brownish red

It might be "Sum and Substance" My neighbor has a hugeone the former owner and neighbor were garden friends and Betty probably gave her a root.
I will move the plant next year, we will most likely keep the woodpile there.

I've often thought that a good theme song for a garden would be Jack Benny's violin solo, "Love in Bloom" !

I had posted this thread awhile ago.

I've only been here 4 years and I'm just starting brand new gardens, but I love the theme idea.

Your gardens look Great Chuck! I really need to try and make it over to see them soon.
I took a break from my other gardens this weekend by planting a new veggie garden.
