I was just wondering - even if a clematis is a type 2 let's say....can it still not be pruned as a type 3 if you want??? Wouldn't that just mean it would flower later in the season??? It wouldn't hurt the plant would it??? Just curious - I do have a type 2 that I wouldn't mind mixing with a type 3.....
A pruning type question - need some help...
I suspect you would reduce the amount of flowering since a Type 2 blooms on both old and new wood.
Type 2's and 3's can be mixed together. As fancyvan pointed out, some of the blooms will be sacrificed.
I think I can handle that as long as it blooms - I don't mind if it blooms later....thanks ladies.
