My cannas are forming seed pods...if I cut them out will that encourage more blooms, or cannas don't care?

I do not cut mine out...I hope they go to seed...let them...if they get seeds I collect them. Sometimes I grow some...other times I might trade them. The whole stalk might die after the flowers and seeds are done. Some of mine do that at least. Kind of like a banana tree does. Curious...what kind are they do you know?
Oh, I have several cannas and I can't remember which ones had seed pods...I'm usually not good at germinating any kind of seed (I'm still learning though!), so I would prefer to get more blooms versus seeds....but I don't really know if cannas are affected by removal of seed pods at all?
It does not seem to matter to mine. The stalk that has flowers usually dies back after they flower and seed. So cutting back does not seem to matter to cannas.
