This show starts tonight, May 22nd. Last season it was one of our favorites.
It has the same producers as American Idol, but a very different
structure. The judges are professionals in the dance industry and are
truly constructive for the contestants who all have professional
dance backgrounds. As the show progresses, contestants are coached
in various dance routines by well known choreographers and are really
stretched to take on new challenges. Watching a break dancer learn the
tango, or a ballet dancer learning hip hop really is entertaining.
The judges do the voting until (if I remember correctly) the top 20 are selected.
Then the audience voting begins. Plus, Cat Deely is one of the world's
most delightful show hosts ever. Knock-down gorgeous and gracious as well.
