Annoyed w/ this mystery plant, can you ID

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

I thought I had purchased neomarica gracilis caerulea, which has an all blue flower. Looks very similr to the regular walking iris, which has a white with blue center flower.

I got this instead and I don't like it because it flops. Can you tell me what it is?

If somebody wants it and has the all blue walking iris, I would be interested in trading. Dmail me.

Looks like that's what you got but I can not really tell with the pictures. however seems a little ill at the moment.
Perhaps too much liriope around it. The picture of the healthy plant looks to be in full sun and that may also be your problem. You might want to move it to a sunny location and see how it does
:)
Good luck

thanks. need clarification. what is the name of the plant shown in the 3 pics? BTW plant is in a very sunny location. I think it flops 'cause it's too tall and no support

Walking Iris

East Texas, United States(Zone 8a)

thanks AV, I don't think I have been clear.

The pic you just posted is what I wanted . The three pics that I posted are what I have , and they are most definitely not the all blue walking iris, or neomarica gracilis caerulea. I am trying to identify my three pictures.

AV, I went back to that great website you linked and I found my plant. Mystery solved!

The three pics that I posted are Aristea ecklonii. leaves look a lot like neomarica but flowers are entirely different.

I love the looks of the plant you have, but alas I don't have any walking iris of any kind. :(( Susan

They are indoor plants in our area.

Glad you found your iris
the Species Database is a great site that I use a lot and still only know about 5% of them
