Grabbed a few shots of the various wildflowers in our yard this weekend.
The first and the most exciting ... TRILLIUM! I've lived here 6 years and this is the first time I've seen these bloom.
A walk through the woods
I don't know what these are but I just love these little pink flowers.
Great pictures. My woodland in zone 7a is very similar. I haven't found any trillium or marsh marigolds, but have lots of mayapples, jack-in-the-pulpits, and ferns. I have found a limited number of the little yellow flowered plant you called snakeroot. I've been calling it trout lily, but don't know for sure... terri
Liked walking with you. We have all those flowers too, execpt for the yellow one. It is quite pretty.
Thanks for posting. Please add more pictures as the flowers bloom.
Terri- you're right, that is trout lily. You can tell because of the broad speckled foliage, which is supposed to look like the coloring of trout. Lots of it around here.
Thanks for clarifying that. Wonder where I got the snake thing? I know I looked it up last year but couldn't remember what I found.
Does anyone know the names of that little pink one?
I think the pink one is Claytonia virginica, Spring Beauty.
Ah yes ... that sounds right. Thanks!
a beautiful walk! I go with the Claytonia or Spring Beauty ID on your pink flower.
