An Empidonax flycatcher. Which, it is impossible to say (and of course not necessarily the same as the one in the other thread before!). The species occurring (either breeding, or on spring passage) in IN are Acadian, Yellow-bellied, Willow, Alder, and Least Flycatchers. These things are almost impossible to identify, even for top ornithologists - Willow and Alder Flycatchers were only found to be separate species less than 20 years ago. Familiarity with the song is essential; if it doesn't sing (or give a DNA sample!), it likely can't be identified.
