Bird #2 reminds me of a Brown Thrasher: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+brown+thrasher&um=1&ie=UTF-8

The first is a Common Yellowthroat, and the second is some kind of thrush

Oh, you are so good! Here are some images of the common yellowthroat: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+common+yellowthroat+bird&um=1&ie=UTF-8 A beautiful bird I have never heard of before!

and the Thrush: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+thrush+bird&um=1&ie=UTF-8

I am loving this forum ... learning so much from some of you! I just take wild guesses when I'm trying to figure out what kind of birds they are!

Thanks Plantladylin and Claypa! After rechecking my book I believe the first is a Common Yellowthroat. Still unsure what kind of Thrush the second is but it really looks like a Veery...but I'm too clueless to be positive! Thanks again!,

I just went back and read a bit about the yellowthroat. Am surprised to see the map shows they are found year round in the south including all of florida! I have never seen one or heard of this bird before. I'm learning so much! Can't wait for Admin. to get a Bird Files set up!

Found this on the Veery Thrush: http://www.avianweb.com/veerythrushes.html

Veery ( a thrush) is a possibility, I'd guess Grey-cheeked Thrush. I rely on calls for thrushes. Great shots, these are hard to see, let alone photograph.

I was sitting in our little wooded area just waiting for some "new" birds and this little fella showed up! What a rush to see a new bird! Thanks for your help!

Here is a better pic although a bit dark!

Yes, I can see now where it could be a Gray-cheeked! Thanks again...I get so confused!

Here's photo's of the gray-cheeked thrush for comparison: http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&q=images+of+gray+cheeked+thrush&um=1&ie=UTF-8

They are great photo's! I can never get pictures of birds, even bad pic's. I agree that those are really great shots!

Ditto to Yellowthroat and Gray-cheeked Thrush

You were a great help...those links you provided were most helpful! They even provided the sound so I can go back and try and find them again!
