A few yrs ago I was at a hydro store and he had a small system using plastic tote with 6 holes cut in the lid and net pots in each hole with a medium.. Inside he had a sprayer system of sorts that came on when the timer activated. The pots were not sitting in solution and only became wet when the sprayer was activated. What is this system called.? He showed me some of the pots roots and they were pretty impressive. Not sure if he had an airstone in there. Would be interested to hear from anyone who has one of these sysytems. What are the limitations? Are they only for rooting? If so.. I have heard that plants rooted this way are not meant to be transplanted to soil..?????
Any input would be appreciated.
Thanx

It’s called the Aerospring system. Although I have not built one yet, it looks to be very easily and economically constructed. A big plus for this system is that it maximizes oxygen to the roots. You can grow some sizable plants, even tomatoes if supported properly.
