New PC with Vista

Hi,
I have a new Dell XPS computer with vista on it. It really has some problems. If I had had the choice, I would have had XP put on it. Anyway, what I'm wondering is, does Vista work well with Firefox? I used Firefox on my other pc & on my laptop, but they both had XP.
What makes me most agravated is that it kinda freezes when a window is open or an email & takes a while before you can click on the red X to end that window session. Anyone else have that problem?
