Does anyone know about this fungus ... I understand it can give me spotted apples and travel to my hawthornes ... it's all over my neighbor's trees and there's not much he can do about it ... once it goes through its life cycle, is it all over? Or will this be with us forever????
Cedar/juniper fungus
Here's some info on it--basically to complete its lifecycle it needs two hosts, one a Juniperus species and the other something in Rosaceae. There are some tips in here on managing it, but I think it's one of those things that you have to "manage" rather than being able to completely get rid of it (unless you can replace the Rosaceae host with varieties that are not susceptible to it)
