comtess de bouchard? I would like to have 2 growing up the same trellis with hopefully different bloom times....any ideas please?

The color is a personal choice but I'd definitely say to keep it in the same pruning group or it would be too confusing.
Oh yes for sure - I am looking for something that gets cut back every spring to match my other clematis....thanks pirl!
Pirl is correct..you want to keep the same pruning group 3 with Clematis "Comtesse de Bouchard"..might you consider a nice dark purple with her?..I think it would look smashing...Jeanne
Perhaps a wine or dark red blooming Clematis would look lovely with Comtess de Bouchard, but as Pirl said, it's a very personal decision.
I would go for a repeat bloomer-maybe Princess Diana, Rooguchi, Avant Garde, Durandii-I looked for ones with a different style bloom as I think if you want them to really stand out ffrom each other-IMHO-that's all, take it or don't, just wanted to throw in my 6 cents!!;)
