Spring Blooms - Part 6
ok.... if I haven't figured out how to take a close-up by now there is something seriously wrong with me! or wrong with me because I took so many? Hmmmmm.......
nothing wrong with either one.... very nice shots
Candyce, Eliza is still in ICU. They are having a very hard time trying to keep an IV working. Last night was going to be their final attempt at it. If it doesn't work they are going to have to start the introduction of antibiotics thru shots. They don't like this treatment because it doesn't give the continous supply that she really needs and takes longer. They did determine that she has a blocked tear duct. They are bewildered by the rapid onset of the infection and it cause. She is going to be seen today by a ophthalmologist. the only good thing so far is that the infection has not spread behind the eye.
My poor daughter hasn't left the hospital since they got there Thursday night.
I will keep you posted on any developments.
Chuck
great pics as usual. That spirea is very pretty. I like the variegation.
I like the dorinicum and never heard of it before. I want to try it for next year's wintersowing effort, but I've been googling for seed and cannot find it. Would you save me some seed, Zeus?
Chuck, I hope all goes well.
Nice shots. I liked the eskimo, the rhody and the cotinus with the droplets. Chuck - good luck. Hope they can get the IV in. My son had a blocked duct too but did not get an infection.
Anita, I've never tried to save seed from mine - I always deadhead them, because the blooms get quite ratty looking towards the end. Also, I tried once to start them from seed, and had zero luck. None of them germinated - I think I didn't give them the conditions they liked. (That was back in my beginner gardening days.)
I'm happy to try to save you some, and have made a note in my garden diary to do so, but if you wanted the seed right away, Stokes Seed carries them:

Nice spring color, Celeste! The rose is a fluke since I just planted it. This would not be the normal bloom time.
Victor, can you D-mail me about your sons blocked duct. I would like some more info about it.
I'll check with my wife to see what she remembers and will dmail you, Chuck.
Victor, here's my guess: Physocarpus opulifolius 'Coppertina' (Coppertina ninebark).
Ha ha - great guess, Daisy!
