We have a Vitis Californica that needs some light trimming to help it go in the right direction (over our ramada, not under the shade cloth). I would like to try rooting the cuttings, but I'm terrible at getting the things to survive. Any tips specific to grapevines or should I just try the routine cutting procedure?
Thanks.
Kathleen
Addendum: The PF info says hardwood cuttings. Not familiar with those at all.

Any tips on grape cuttings?
My uncle always said that with grape vines, the hard part was getting them NOT to root. I honestly don't have any experience, but I think they are fairly easy.

Thanks 'other.' LOL!
I have one soft cutting in water that is rooting, so perhaps that's one option. I'll do some more 'net searching.
