What if?

Longboat Key, FL

Before we again start building bomb shelters and hoarding food, let's consider this.

Are these other alternatives to our current policy on:

improving our grain and other food sources via scientist intervention and pesticide use
drilling for oil and gas in various locations in the USA
alternative energy and additional reliable energy sources in place
using the energy resources we already have
re-prioritizing the use of petroleum fuels ?

Those are just a start.

But, we should continue to seriously pursue sensible efforts to save energy and resources.

(We were in Manhattan last week, staying in a nice hotel with corkscrew bulbs -- saving energy. Yet, across the street was an office building with more than 80 percent of its lighting left on, all nights and week-ends.)

I use the word "sensible," because, in my humble opinion, we are over-doing turning our children into energy-and-environmental-Nazis, protecting each tree and blade of grass. We are creating a new order of NIMBY's.

But -- that is my opinion.

Be well
