Natal Plum in the compost

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9b)

I'm working with three trash cans so space is limited. I have a bunch of clippings from my natal plum. (not the best timing, but it had to be done) Should they go in? I think ouch. What do you think?

Can you chip/shred them? That would help them break down faster. Whole they will probably sit for years before composting.

I don't feel I have enough land/cuttings to warrant the purchase of a chipper/shredder. The best I can do is send the tender ends through the vac/shredder option of a blower/vac. Though that works best on dried leaves and small twigs. I figure, if the vac can pick it up, it will shred it. I don't know what it will do with greens. The local HD may have one available for rent. If that is the rout in which to go, I'll wait until I trim the eugenias. Thanks for the thoughts.
