Insect damage?

Vashon, WA(Zone 8b)

Can anyone help me with this? I am noticing chewed spots on my irises (planted last Fall) and wonder what it could be, and if I should do anything about it. Thanks.

I wonder if it's that Iris Borer?

Anyone know what to do about it now, if it is?

Looks like leaf spot to me which is a fungal infection. It makes the leaves look ugly but shouldn't hurt the plant. If you feel you must treat it, you can spray for it if it gets too carried away. I alternate every two weeks with Mancozeb Flowable (Mancozeb) or
Ortho Disease Control (Daconil) and use a stickative for three treatments total and that takes care of it. I have a particularly bad situation because I use sprinklers. You need to cut off the affected foliage and don't walk through the iris when they are wet. It spreads that way.

Let's see what other people think it is though.

It would not be borer in your location. The leaves don't look like they have been chewed so could be a fungus. Is that the only affected plant?

Thanks for your thoughts. All my irises that have been in the ground over the winter have it, but not the ones I just put in this spring. Here is another plant, an iris native to the Pacific Coast region.

Yep, sure looks like iris leaf spot. The yellow circles are a giveaway.
