I have a thing for orange iris. A long ago friend had one in her garden and it was really orange! Not copper or brownish. We have lost touch but I would love, love, love to hear what you guys think for best orange iris. Pictures would be great!

Here is another of my favorite orange iris, Oktoberfest. I grow this one, but don't have a good picture of it, so here is one from Plant Files:

Oh my gosh! They are all so yummy, I want to eat them! Thanks for the great photos! Don't they look fantastic with purple flowers! I love the combo of purple with orange. In my cutflower bed I love calendulas mixed with electric blue salvia. I also love my cobalt blue delphinium paired with my new orangy echinaceas.
Orange jazzes up any garden. It is very nice among blue and purple any kind of flower.
I like Firebreather, Avalon Sunset but Savannah Sunset is my favorite. Another on my WL:LOL:

Our northern region has difficulty growing orange TBs. Fresno Calypso can be grown. Otherwise I would suggest Celtic Harp & Celtic Glory which originated in MI, breeder, Hal Stahly.
Oh, those are all gorgeous and really orange.
Florentine Silk has pink St. & lavender Falls. Tags get switched?
Whichever one it is...it's gorgeous:) I've been nosing around at Schreiner's and this one is on my WL

If it looks half as good at this in person, I'd be happy:)
Oops. Tags must be mixed up. It's another photo of Game Plan.

I'm glad that people farther south than New England do well with oranges--Voltage won't grow at all for example is thin area. I think for northern regions one must use pollen from a good orange and cross onto a plant which carries orange. Body and Soul is a yellow+orange blend which might be useful in getting an orange which is hardy in this area.
I love that Pumpkin Cheesecake. I am putting it on my someday list.

musicmonkey2 contact the Maine Iris society and see which orange tall beardeds do well for them. There are good ones out but one is asking the plant to do well over the whole continent which is difficult for them.
Amplified is beautiful too.

I'm loving Captain Crunch and Firebreather a lot=D
Such gorgeous pictures!
Oooooooooooooooo be still my heart!
'Maid of Orange' is a border bearded iris. It struggled here when we grew it but did well enough for a cross. saved a bronze and a red to work with. BB 'Orange Pop' is holding on.
