I have never composted before, except for throwing banana peels under a plant here or there. I want to start, and need some advice. What type would be best for a small amount of content being composted? I am assuming that the bin should tumble. Does anyone have any advice? I just need advice on the actual "contraption" not the contents.
Thanks, Jennifer
Need Advice - I want to buy a small compost bin/tumbler
Biostack bin seems to get the most good comments. There's some about it in this thread
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/815974/
which makes mention of a slightly older thread with lots of discussion. A lot of people seem to be unhappy with tumblers.
Check out the bokashi thread. If you are mostly composting kitchen waste it might work well for you as you can put in meat and fish scraps as well as milk and other things that can't go in regular compost.
