Miniseelik

Dewey, AZ(Zone 8a)

First bloom on a new clematis: Miniseelik, which means "miniskirt" in Estonian. This bloom is lighter in color than the advertised blooms I have seen, and also ruffled, but I am still ecstatic that it bloomed at all!

That's really pretty. The light color gives it a delicate look. I have one with similar coloration that's in a bed with southern exposure (gets baked in the summer down here!) and it holds it's color real well.

Very pretty looking! I love the way you took the photo with the water droplets on it....

Thanks! Right after I took the picture, I found that one a permanent home in the ground. We are required to have big, blocky mailbox column type things that are stuccoed or stoneworked to match our house. Anyway, it's feet are in the shade 100% of the day in a NE exposure, under tall foliage on both sides, and when it gets a little bigger it will be able to twine around the mailbox into the sun. Lots of soil amendment and a drip to it as well.

Very pretty bloom.
