I saw a bush and asked the lady who lived there what it was. She called it a honeysuckle azalea and said she'd gotten it from Lowe's about 3 years ago. The bush is about 6' tall and the flowers are a gold-orange that are clustered at the end of the stems. The flowers look like honeysuckle and smell heavenly.
I've looked over the plant pics here on the site and googled the name but cannot find the exact plant. Does anyone have any ideas what it is and where I can get one. I am totally in love with this one.
Thanks,

honeysuckle azalea
I have been selling them like hotcakes at work! We bought the last ones from the grower the other day.
Admiral Semmes azalea (Rhododendron 'Admiral Semmes') is the type we've had and it is fantastic! Huge flowers with these crazy curving stamens and a delicious fragrance! This one is a bright yellow.

Where can I get one???
PeachBlossom
Could be Piedmont azalea or Exbury azalea. I don't know why they call them honeysuckle azaleas except the native azaleas do have a sweet aroma.
OK bugme and hcmcdole,
The yellow one is like the one I saw and the pink one is now imprinted on my brain. I've GOT to have these plants. I went to Lowe's today and they didn't have them. HD in Brunswick didn't either.
If anyone comes across these, please let me know where they are. TyTy has one for 7.95 but they want 20.00 to ship it. Any help will be fervently appreciated.

Glynis, that is gorgeous. How much are they selling for?

Not all natives have scent. I have seen native yellows, reds, and oranges without scent. Around here the pinks grow wild around the streams and dry creekbeds, the other natives are getting rare. The new crosses they are making may or may not have scent regardless of their name, I'd make sure you sniff before you buy and the blooming is winding down here.
Next sale I know of is in Griffin, GA. The usually have some, but check first and go early.

$24.99, and we also have three more that are scented. Four Kings is one of them (blooms pink/white) and the other two are also pinkish, native, deciduous and scented.
I work at The Village Green on Glenwood near Moreland - we are attached to Village Hardware, (although we still only have a huge Ace sign up there) in SE Atlanta.
As soon as my landscape is done (hopefully for fall/winter) these are going in. Can you imagine the scent being surrounded by these? And the color? WOW!

Fragrant Azaleas and Rhododendrons are light colored or white. Don't know why.
UUaalace - Most bees etc are attracted to flowers with color, red, pink etc. For those flowers are light on color or white, they usually have other ways to attract bees or butterflies, many times is through scent. That's why for the same flowers light color or white are usually more scented than dark color flowers.
Four Seasons Nursery, in Savannah have them in 5 gal. containers.
She said they grow very large.
