Laser jet ink hazards?

Mooresville, NC(Zone 7b)

Does anyone know if there are any hazards associated with the use of shredded office paper containing laser jet ink? I want to use this in my garden for mulch and also in my compost bin. I have access to quite a bit.

I use it! I don't think there is much of a hazard.

No, I doubt that very much......I doubt there's enough ink in that to make any kind of difference at all. :)

Thanks guys, I'm going to grind it up and use it this summer. Hubby thinks it's iron based, so that would be good for the soil.

I think laserjet is carbon power that's electrostatically attracted to the right spots on paper. But who knows what modern manufacturing may have figured out to make it more un-safe?

Isn't deskjet ink now made from soy?

I know that a lot of inks are, but I have no idea about laser-jet ink *specifically*. But I've not heard of it being a problem.
