Some of my new baby lemons grew out Black in color and some are normal....Any ideas?

My baby grapefruit just turned black, boo-hoo!
I think it is from lack of water.
Is your tree in the ground or in a pot Hazel?

mine are in a pot but mine is not from lack of water I sprayed with copper sulfide that my local nursery sold me and so far I have no more black lemons
