I just bought a Raja and Shinko pear tree - bare root, supposedly to cross pollinate, but I can't find information on the Raja. Looks like the Shinko blooms in january - february, and fruits in september, but I can't find out what the Raja does. Does anyone grow these varieties in zone 8? (I live in Portland, Or.) Also, can anyone confirm their growth habits? I think the raja is pretty small: 8-10 feet, and the shinko much bigger: 20-30 ft.
I'm trying to plant a lot of fruit trees in my back yard, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
