Unknown iris

Winston-Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

anyone know who i am? the camera has washed out the color a bit on these three photos. When it first unfurls it is a nice burgundy then lightens a bit. This first photo has a yellow ground which is a little exagerated due to the suns back lighting.

that photo does look pretty similar. to bad you dont know what it is:)

I have had mine from a trade for 7 or so years. I love it. It has such great form, branching, growth and bloom habit. I just wish i knew who she is????

I agree - it's not chatter, I have that one and the standards are all one color. But it is amazing with that white flush up the rib - I really really like it

Let me know flowrgirl if I could talk you into letting me have some pollen from it!! or a foot

Raleigh, NC

no - footloose is white stitched violet

Raleigh, NC

do you have any idea of the source, where you got this particular plant from?

Winston-Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

I got mine in a trade forever ago. I think it was unknown even during the trade. Its back when i used to trade for whatever! Now im all about the names.

Raleigh, NC

isn't that the way it goes, though?

I have a CD somewhere around here of only iris photos - I'll check through it for you - that's assuming I can refind it - we packed up my office and turned it into a bedroom for visiting in laws. my neat million piles all went into 4 boxes....

Winston-Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

My office is in neat millions of piles too.LOL

well, tntigger, you sure are close, can't tell if there's more of a haft mark or not.

it's not Belvi Queen, Rebound or Spreckles - though they are close.

Winston-Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

tntigger's i think is the same as mine. Bummer, were both lost!

Greeneville, TN(Zone 6b)

I hope it blooms again this year, its a keeper even without a name!

Winston-Salem, NC(Zone 7a)

It has great branching! I have loved my mystery iris since its first bloom! I will find out who she is!!!

McGregor, IA(Zone 4b)

I love the yellow with the coral in the first photo - wish there was an iris that looked exactly like it!

when the sun shines through thats what pretty much looks like. When it first opens its colors are really bright! It goes thru several color phases. I love it but wish i knew her name!
