Reusing potting soil?

Framingham, MA(Zone 6a)

Can you reuse potting soil? I have the soil from last year's tomato pots - lots of it. Is there a way to revitalize it so that it can be used again?
Thanks for your help!

I would mix it with some new soil and use in the garden.

I put it on the compost pile in the fall when I put my pots away, so it does get reused eventually.

North Augusta, ON

ditto to the compost pile.

Eastern Long Island, NY(Zone 7a)

I dump it in the yard, with all the $ and expectation I put into a new plant I want to give it the best chance possible. ☺

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I remove about 1/2 and add fresh.

There is so much of it left, I was hoping to reuse it for bareroot roses and blueberries coming in April - just until I can get their new homes ready....
I would definitely mix with some compost/manure/fresh soil to "refresh" it.
Whatcha all think?

NORTH CENTRAL, PA(Zone 5a)

Return used potting soil to the compost piles. Wash used pots using 10% by volume household bleach. Air dry before stacking for future use. Never use a pot from another source without cleaning and drying first.

If you do not follow these principles you run a much higher chance of bringing disease forward from your own practices.

Amen to that!
I had so many problems 'way back when having not followed that advice.
