DAILY PICS VOLUME #78

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Everyone.

We came from HERE:

http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/822618/#new

The birds have abandoned my yard for the past couple of days so I had to reach into the "archives."

I'm trying the re sizer again. What ever I'm doing, it's not right. The only time it lets me resize a pic is when I want to e-mail a Pic, then it gives me the choice of small medium and large. I've had this program all along.

adel, you have to do it through My Pictures on your computer.

Right click on a thumbnail and a menu will come up w/ "resize pictures" in it.

Chose Medium and it will make the new picture.

Can't be done when your in Picasa/

Loved the pics everyone. Seeing the goldfinch made me remember the one I saw a few days ago - his front area was starting to turn brighter yellow. I'm new to bird watching and was wondering if this is about the time the males get their summer colors. I only have seen one that was brighter out of the dozens that dine at my feeders. Eleanor

Just got around to looking at all of the wonderful pictures in the last volume. Wallaby any time you want to ship some of those cute little blue tits over here, please feel free. They are adorable.

Dini, love the doves and the birdbath, too. Gosh but that Hornbill has a big beak!!

Nanny 56, great shots, good captions (like the cow, too), N.M. Jane, adelbert, everyone, great pictures.

He's looking up, for some reason. I thought it was a crow, but then saw the coloration of the Grackle.

They eat all of the food I put down for my groundfeeders!

Nice pics guys!

Hi grammyphoeb,
The American Goldfinch should be starting to turn a little brighter color now; adelberts are Lesser Goldfinch and not American Goldfinch. His usually stay the same color.

This problem didn't start until I downloaded Picasa, so I uninstalled it. I've been trying to post through my pictures. One problem I have is the new Vista program on this computer is not compatable with some of the programs out there. Here goes again.

Did it make another photo for you that says (medium)?

You're all welcome. I went out today to take some pictures but didn't get much good. I had two nice sightings but could not get a picture. One was a goldeneye duck and the other a sandhill crane.

But here you go instead… Canadian Geese.

Very nice pic Mrs Ed!.

Their actually called Canada Geese. Canadians are people.

I made the same mistake a long time ago. :-)

The XP Image Resizer won't work with Vista. I've looked around and found this, don't know how good it is though.

Canada Geese eh? Well, I learn something new every day.

How 'bout these duckies…
Resin or someone, want to chime in on their ID?

I was thinking Mallard, but there are some with green heads and some with purple/blue.

adelbertcat, if you want to check this site,

http://www.windowsvistaplace.com/vista/windows-photo-gallery

I like Windows Photo Shop Live (the correct name is Windows Live Photo Gallery) and it lets you resize pictures. It also has a nice cropping, editing feature. According to this web site, it is packaged with Vista.

For what it's worth.
