Attention Men...
Many of us have heard, esp. in recent times, the many uses, esp. medicinal, of this wonderful cactus - Aloe vera. Following an article [by a botanist friend, in fact] that came in a Kannada magazine, I tried using Aloe vera pulp straight from the 'container' after cutting it open and came up with fantastic and satisfying results. I use it often. Why not try yourself too.
Cut a thick leaf part of an aloe vera plant, esp. from the bottom, mature growth. Wash and safely cut it open - about an inch will do. Apply the juice/pulp directly on the cheek and beard [that cool sensation is unique!] after wetting those parts slightly with water. Now you are ready to get a shave!! No shaving cream needed. You can do the same exercise for the second round [some rough beards ask for it!]. This almost gel-like content of Aloe vera leaf is a wonderful shaving gel! You will get a smooooooooth shave! Try!
