These threads really move fast and time to begin Vol. #75.
Here's where we came from, i.e. Vol. #74
http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/820541/
I'll start the thread off with a recent photo of the Northern Harrier. This is probably the best photo that I have ever taken of this hawk. The facial features somewhat resemble an owl.
Daily Pics .... Vol. #75
Wow they do resemble an owl!!
Beautiful pic Linth!! Thanks for starting the new thread!!
Super pic Linth! Great shot!
Thanks for starting the new thread!
Marilyn
What a neat looking bird. Nice shot!
Oh my! He is a stunning looking fellow! I want one of them!!
Okay, I'm back. Had to take a time-out for a quick dinner ! And, thank you for the comments.
Fortunately, the Northern Harrier stayed put while I stopped out of the car, got my camera out and rested the camera and a 700mm lens across the top of the car. I was able to take quite a few shots.
During the past several weeks, we had a male Painted Bunting visiting a local feeder. This is, indeed, rare for Maryland. The resident was kind enough to alert the birding community of his visit. I made five visits, spent roughly 7-8 hours in the sometimes bitter cold and only saw him once. I had hoped to get a better photo but the lighting wasn't too good.
Rockminer.............My glasses must be off. I only see feathers on the Spotted Towhee, you can fill me in where I'm going wrong at the poker game tonight.
Wonderful pics Linth!!!
That is great about the Painted Bunting!
I love the shot of the Flicker too!
Great to see your bunting! One or two normally come through here this time of year, but no sigh of them yet. :(
Linth I love the one of the Swans flying!
GG, The White-breasted Nuthatch is such a wonderful curious little bird;nice pic!
GP,lots of nice birds!
I think I posted a photo of my "squirrel house" before. Since I retain my original photos by date, I usually go back to the previous year to see what birds I was photographing then. In doing so, this photo of the squirrel sticking his head out of my "Flicker Box to be" was taken on 3-8-07, with snow on the roof. He seems to have made this his personal residence since he is in it right now.
Nice Yellow-rumped Warbler nanny!
Nice job Linth, Don't remember ever seeing a bird like, your Northern Harrier, in books.
Love looking at your pictures everybody.
Great day here today. beautiful sun, went for a ride in the country, to try to get pictures of different kind of birds, but they were all in my backyard. This pair were enjoying a good lunch, Notice the beaks. YUM
