Variegated azalea (red ruffles)

Fern Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I just purchased three of these from the local nursery. They are labeled "Variegated Red Ruffles". I have never seen any other variegated azaleas. Are they pretty rare? Anyone else have other variegated varieties?

Here's an up close of a flower bud I found on one of the plants.

Wow- cool! It almost looks like a R. daphnoides hybrid. There is R. 'Girard's Variegated Hot Shot', which has hot red flowers, but that's all I've ever seen.

Very interesting leaves.

Hey Passi07,
Wow! I gotta have some of them!!!! Where is Chuluota Fl.?? What is the name of the nursery where
you found them?? And how are yours doing now(??) it's been almost a year since your posting of these great pic's.
We have been trying to decide on some new bushes for the front of our house, and actually looked at Azaleas this
weekend but wanted something with a little more pizzazz...Taa Daa, your bushes would be perfect!! So Cool!!
Well, let us know, thanks, Happy Gardening, Terry.

"Regular" Red Ruffles sometimes rebloomed for me in the Fall here in Texas. Have you had this occur with the variegated version? Luis
