6'' down

Nichols, IA(Zone 5a)

When I was digging the entire garden up to rid it of root grass, I unearthed these, but not together. I was taking full shovelfuls out, so both were 6 to 7 inches down. A railroad storage shed sat there long ago. The shed was moved there to be used personally. The old railroad is across the road.

The ''pencil'' is 4 1/4'' long, 1/2'' in diameter and a copper color. It's heavy.

The other is free swinging. It had black paint on it so DH painted it and screwed it into the wood. The center is also copper colored. It's 1 3/8'' wide and 2 1/4'' long.

Both are in good condition considering they were buried for who knows how long.
