Dial up tying up the phone line

I heard a while back, but forgot what it's called. that there is something that you could connect something to your computer, that would allow the phone to ring while you were on line, if you had dial up. You also have to have call waiting I think.

Does anybody remember the name of the thingy you have to buy to hook up to your computer to do this?
